the greatest photographer captured waterspout

when tsunami attacked indonesia in 2004, i asked my friend if tsunami, flood, earthquake, volcano eruption, typhoon or tornado could happen in singapore, and they told me directly NO. i was so disappointed when i heard that coz we can't feel the greatness of the nature without disasters.

and then, this friday (25 may 2007), all J1s went for the navy openhouse at changi naval base. i was not impressed at all when i saw the small small boats parked at the port. but during the boat ride, when everybody was so high to get wet, i spotted something extremely unusual. that thing reminded me of the movie "the day after tomorrow". i told myself it might be just smoke from somewhere or some mirage, but when my classmates started to scream "tornado", i believed it was really happening, in singapore, just a few km away from me, on the sea!

it was time for me to do something! but the stupid breakwater structure outside the port kept blocking my sight. water from the side of the boat almost wet my phone. until the boat got rid of the breakwater, when the city, the tornado, and i formed a straight line, i pressed down the shutter and got this super shocking photo! my framing is nearly perfect coz that thing looks like right above the city's buildings and it's so horrifying!

some of the geography students kept telling it wasn't a tornado. they called it a "waterspout". then i went home and did some research. it is now clear that "a waterspout is a tornado on water..." haha, i wonder how their teacher teaches them geography. i don't care. i shall call it a tornado.

i also did some research in the main portal websites. they actually reported on the tornado. but their photos are like shit... (taken by residents probably). my photo is the best! i'm the greatest photographer.
